I mean, after two seasons of the TV series, has the Evil Dead franchise's popularity and resonance increased a lot? I guess that it already happened with Evil Dead 2013 anyway. The movie was a worldwide hit, like it or not.
I also hope Ash's popularity as horror "cult" character has turned into a "mainstream" thing, somehow. Army of Darkness was already a commercial hit - or something along those lines - anyway.

I don't know. I've been a fan since the late 80's personally. I guess it's become a bit more mainstream in the last few years.

To be blunt, I think the remake is crap. But if it got Ash VS Evil Dead the green light... good.
